Apple Music Lyrics Not Appearing? Try These Quick Fixes

Is Apple Music no longer displaying lyrics for your favorite tunes? Don’t worry! Here are some simple solutions to help you get those lyrics back.

1. Access Songs from the Artist Page Instead of Your Library

When Apple Music lyrics disappear while playing from your library or a playlist, try locating the song directly on the artist’s Apple Music page.

While playing the song in the Music app on your iPhone, tap the artist’s name in the Now Playing view, then tap Go to Artist. This takes you to the Apple Music artist page, where you can search for the song under Top Songs or by opening the relevant album.

Frequently, playing a song from one of these pages prompts Apple Music to load the lyrics if it didn’t previously. Tap the Lyrics icon at the bottom of the Now Playing screen to verify.

Once you’ve successfully displayed the lyrics, explore other useful Apple Music features.

2. Play Songs from Alternate Album Versions

If lyrics still fail to appear in Apple Music, they might be attached to a song on a different version of the album. For instance, Apple Music may only load lyrics for Demi Lovato’s \”Confident\” when streaming from the standard album, not the deluxe version.

Play Songs From a Different Version of the Album

An effortless method to test this involves tapping the artist’s name in the Now Playing view and selecting Go to Album. Scroll to the bottom of the tracklist to find alternate versions of the album, if available. Tap a different version, locate the same song, and play from that album to see if lyrics are included.

Not All Songs Have Lyrics on Apple Music

Whether this issue is a bug requiring Apple’s attention or simply an inconsistency in lyrics availability remains uncertain. Nonetheless, these quick workarounds make it easy to address missing lyrics for your listening and reading pleasure.

Keep in mind that not all songs on Apple Music have lyrics. Artists are responsible for uploading lyrics to the relevant databases, and sometimes, particularly with independent musicians, this step may not have been completed. Hopefully, Apple will expand its lyrical offerings in the future.
