Progress Made in Implementing Senior Tax Freezes in the Lake Area – News/Talk KRMS

County assessors in the lake area, where Senate Bill-190 was adopted, are actively disseminating information regarding the application process and providing guidance to senior citizens on how they can freeze their property taxes.

Residents who are at least 62 years old, have paid their current property taxes, and reside within Camden County are eligible, according to Marty McGuire, the Camden County Assessor.

In early September, the Camden County Commission made a decision to adopt the ordinance following the approval of S-B-190 by the state legislature, which was then signed into law by Governor Mike Parson.

According to McGuire, there is still ample time to submit an application as the deadline is towards the end of June.

Approximately 10,000 property owners may be impacted by the tax freeze in Camden County.
